Filled to the Top and Spilling Over

Ephesians 3:16-20

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.  And to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

I think one of the biggest secrets to the Christian life is having the faith to fully grasp how long and wide and high and deep the love of Christ is! It takes a lot of faith and even more grasping! Interesting how   it says that we need to be rooted together with other Christians to fully know his love!  Wow to be filled to the measure of the all the fullness of God and His love! Not to mention strengthening our inner being with the power of his Spirit!  He will then work through us! Isn’t this what we are seeking… to be totally filled with Love and then turn around and love others with our gifts?

Summing it up to say that when we live by faith in Jesus as our God, we need to be with other believers while we try and grasp how wide, long and high his love is for us.  We want to ask him to fill us to the top through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that we can do his work, which requires his strength and power allowing us to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.  Amen!
